RATING; Five Stars
Against my Duty was a great book, I loved reading it. It is the first book I have read by Anneke Boshoff, it won't be the last either.
I enjoyed the characters and world building. Camilla and Mateo, were amazing. I like how they connect with each other, how Mateo always knows what Camilla needs. I liked how in the book it shows how protective the small town of Piper Falls is. The setting was great and easy to follow along. I love the brother like relationship between Brandon, Caden, and Mateo. I love friendships that basically make you feel like siblings. A place where you can joke freely and full of great laughs. Most of all someone to provide guidance and support through difficult times.
As someone who used to live in a small town, I fully understand how that can go.
In small towns like this, you always have a helping hand if needed. They rally together and care about you, they want to help in any way they can. Just good people. I find it to be important to have good neighbors and Piper Falls is full of good people just waiting for you to meet.
Even being an outsider, new to the town, the Piper Falls community rallies to protect them. Basically once a Piper Falls resident, always a Piper Falls resident.
Against My Duty is rated for 18+ readers as there is some content that may not be suitable for some readers.
